      Prof. Abu Abarry received a B.A. degreein English Language and Literature from the University of Ghana, Legon in 1971. He obtained a Master's degree from the same university in 1974 in African Literature.

     In 1977 he obtained a doctorate degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA. Since 1977, Prof. Abu has been engaged in teaching, re-searching and writing.  He has taught at different times at the State University of New York, Buffalo, The University of Jos, Nigeria University of Ghana Legon, and The London School of Oriental and African Studies. He is at present teaching at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA.

     He is married to Dr. Nana Abarry.
