                          BUKARI MAHAMA LAWANI  (1889-1961)

                       (aka.JALALA / YAHAYA ADABRAKA)

                        

He was one of the first Muslim civil servants to rise

to prominence in Ghana.  He was an employee of the

Government Printing Office. He was born in Makeri, 

Krobor and came to live in Accra with his mother's 

brother, Titus Abubakar Glover after the death of his

father Mallam Lawani. 

   He had his early education in Accra and also in

Freetown Sierra Leone

He had two brothers, Salifu and ???, and a sister called

Wahiratu who married Alhaji Mardah, sarkin Gurunsawa.

His half siblings were Fati (Baabanin Kumashi/Nman Jato plumber),

a sister (who died early without a child) and another sister

called Mairie (Mai Koko).

He died on Frday, 10th November 1961.  

He had sixteen children from four wives.

               4th Wife: Akorley Fearon (Bibi).

(Was first married to Braimah Dangana Shardow).

2. Barkisu (Wife of Alhaji Na Bayan Gorta)
