CHIEF ABARRY  ALI  DANBORNO

                                                  (1860-1957)

He was born in 1860, the first son of Native Officer Mohammadu Danborno. His mother was a Yoruba lady from the Taiwo Olowo family from Orile, Lagos. In 1871 he arrived in the Gold Coast (now Ghana) with his father who was on military assignment.

Following the death of his father in 1900,  he became the family-head and a father-figure to his much younger siblings. His siblings were: Garba Danborno, Ossman Danborno (Jarman), Hawawu Danborno (Baabanin Nsawam), Nuhu Sharubutu Danborno*, and Hausatu Danborno (Aburwa).

He was made the first Chief of the Beriberi clan (Sarkin Beriberi) at the age of sixty in 1920. He died in December 1957 at the age of 97.

CHIEF ABARRY ALI

Chief Abarry had two wives and six children. His first wife was Hausatu Maame Adwoa Ahima a native

of Dansami, Assin Fosu in the Central Region  who died in December 1957, exactly two weeks after him. 

His second wife was Uwah, a Fulani. who died in 1969.

MARIAMA ABARRY (aka. Baabanin Kwarnyako)  

She was Chief Abarry's eldest daughter. She died before her father.

Her only child was Auntie Lauratu.

1st Husband: Alhaji Sofo of Darkuman. Children: 1. Usman (Delgoje)  2. Mairiga (d).

2nd Husband: Alhaji Wahabi  Child: 1. Tunde.

3rd Husband: Children: 1. Sa'a  2 . Zeenatu   3.  Hajia Dangana.

ZALIATU ABARRY (aka. Nma Na Zongo / Auntie Zalia) (d. Feb. 1973)

Was married to Hamza Braimah, a popular jockey and a

relation of Chief Braimah , (Sarkin Yorubawa). He died in a

motor accident along the Accra-Nsawam road on 2nd Feb1958.
